CCI’s signature program, the Business of Art, is designed to enhance the business skills of artists and creative entrepreneurs.

As a Business of Art student, you will learn key skills that will provide you with the knowledge and resources to help advance your art career, develop your ideas, and increase your financial independence. Business of Art workshop sessions are taught by arts and business leaders with both commercial and nonprofit experience. Over eight workshops, you will learn key concepts involved in goal-setting, marketing and self-promotion, money management, legal issues, strategic planning and project financing. In the final session, all students will have the opportunity to receive feedback and insights in small group Cluster Counseling sessions with the presenters. To supplement the program, you will also receive a copy of The Business of Art: An Artist’s Guide to Profitable Self-Employment, a CCI publication.

For the first time in CCI's history, we are offering Business of Art in Fall 2020 as an online workshop series.  Sessions will take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, over 8 weeks. Full participation is expected. Enrollment is limited, and priority will be given to Los Angeles artists.

Dates & Times: 
This class meets on Tuesdays & Thursdays via Zoom, except Monday November 2 (to accommodate Election Day!).

Sessions take place from 5:30-7:00 PM (Pacific) on:

• November 2, 5, 10, 12

And from 5:30-7:30 PM (Pacific) on :

• November 17, 19

Cost: $225 early bird registration (ends Sept 15); $250 general
