As part of Grand Park’s Our LA Voices, Grand Park will offer free workshops on creative practice, as well as the business side of making art in L.A. Topics range from street dance activism and acting, to intellectual property and copyright protection, marketing, entrepreneurship skills and fundraising. These workshops are free and open to all. Please pre-register – RSVP links are below. Parking validation will be provided for workshop attendees for LOT 10 only. Parking Lot 10 is located on N. Broadway between First Street + Temple Street. Artists Thriving Into Retirement: Visioning and Tools to Get You On Track presented by Jennifer Cuevas

Feminist Acting Workshop with Gina Young

Feminist Acting Class is a revolutionary approach to actor training that shakes the entire foundation on which it is built. Created by playwright and director Gina Young as a series of experiments to determine if the form and content of an acting class can both be made feminist, FAC incorporates scene study, feminist theory, consciousness raising and community building. Intended for actors who audition and perform regularly, this abridged version of the longer workshop aims to flip the script and expand possibilities for women, trans and nonbinary people in theatre and beyond.

Dance Movement Activism with Shamell Bell
WED APR 24 — FRI APR 26 // 12noon -1:30pm // Grand Park Community Terrace (between Hill + Broadway)
This 3-day workshop focuses on embodied practices such as meditation, theater games, and street dance as community building tools, manifestation practices, and healing modalities. In the culminating event, all are welcome to perform in a flashmob and craft messaging of our collective vision for liberation.
